Happy Friday, RISERS! I hope this week has been good for you. On this Valentine’s Day Friday, I hope you have a “Lovely” day.
Happy Birthday to all of you who turned a year older this past week. Also, Happy Anniversary to you and your loved ones for reaching another milestone year together.
Quote of the Week: “At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet.” Plato
Song of the Week: In June 1963, Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote “She Loves You” while staying in a hotel room a few hours before a show. They wanted to release a love song from a third-person perspective. The result, of course, was the song being ranked number 64 on the Rolling Stone Magazine list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in August 2009.
Joke of the Week: Where do you find love in a grocery store? Aisle B…there for you.
Nugget of Wisdom of the Week: Though Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate romantic love, I want to encourage you to celebrate love with all the people in your life. Friends and other family members need to know how much you care about them.
This week, my other maternal uncle passed away. In less than sixteen months, my mom and both of her brothers have passed away. My father served in the Navy and was frequently deployed when I was a small child. At different times, both of my uncles acted as backup fathers.
We need to be intentional in demonstrating how much people mean to us. I know that death is a part of life, but you never know when you will call, text, or see someone one last time. Don’t let a day pass without telling those close to you how you feel. Make that call. Schedule that visit. Make that memory.
Shout Out of the Week: This week, I want to give a shout-out to everyone who loves with all their hearts: couples, moms and dads, children, grandparents, and those who love children who cannot live at home. All of you give pieces of your heart to others every day. Thank you for making the world a better place.
Have a great weekend. Remember, you are the most awesome, and YOU ROCK!
