Happy Friday, RISERS! I hope this week has been good to you. Though we have lived in Tennessee for 30 years now, I have fought tooth and nail against being a Vols fan. Both my husband and my oldest son graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and now my daughter will be marching in the Pride of the Southland Band. I guess it\u2019s time to give up and just accept that UT runs in our blood. Whether you like football or not, have a relaxing weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movie of the Week<\/strong>: In the 1993 movie Rudy,<\/em> Sean Astin plays the title character, a young man with the desire to play football for Notre Dame who is constantly told he was too small. After spending hour upon hour on the field in a fight to prove himself, he finally gets a chance to aid the team in practice only. But with his hard work and the help of his teammates, he finally realizes his dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recharge Tip of the Week: <\/strong>In keeping with our football theme, one of the best ways to relax (unless your team drives you nuts) is to have a football party with friends. Whether you set up the grill or order your favorite takeout, just being together to cheer on your teams is what football season memories are made of. So, don your favorite team\u2019s jersey and party on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recipe of the Week:<\/strong> A football party would not be complete without a huge plate of nachos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What you\u2019ll need<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 lb. ground beef or turkey<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 packet of taco seasoning<\/p>\n\n\n\n

shredded cheese<\/p>\n\n\n\n

shredded lettuce<\/p>\n\n\n\n

diced tomatoes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 bag of tortilla chips or scoops<\/p>\n\n\n\n

sour cream<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completely cook the meat, then drain. Add taco seasoning following the instructions on the packet. You can either place the assembled nachos in the oven and heat until the cheese melts, or else set up the items in an assembly line. Pile your plate high, then enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shout Out of the Week: <\/strong>This week, I want to shout out to all of the people involved in youth football: coaches, referees, and especially the family members who go to every practice and every game to support their children. You make a difference in their lives just by showing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
